Small Business Makeovers is operated by Geoff Affleck, a marketing professional with more than 20 years business experience in management, sales, marketing and training. Geoff has worked with national corporations including Bell Canada, Canon, Budget Rent-a-Car and Sprint Canada, mid-sized companies such as Mt. Washington Resort.

Geoff knows how to manage, grow and sell a small business. He has owned four successful small businesses including a ski school with 100 instructors, a horse farm, a lawn care business and a marketing & training company.

He grew his Toronto-based ski school to more than 800 customers, doubling sales and tripling profits before selling the business. Now through Small Business Makeovers, Geoff persues his passion of helping others reach their highest personal and business potential.

Geoff also mentors new entreprenuers by volunteering on the advisory board at Business Works, a community service program that assists people who are receiving Employment Insurance benefits to start their own businesses.

Lifetime Learner

Geoff Affleck earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1998 from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto, Ontario and a Bachelor of Business degree in Marketing from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. “The key to getting results,” says Geoff, “is to combine business school principles with what actually works in the real world.”

Background

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Geoff became a ski instructor at age 18 and followed the snow to Canada where he eventually met and married Lesley Young,  an accomplished horse trainer and coach. Together they live just outside of Victoria BC on Vancouver Island.
